THE PSYKE PROJECT hails from the city of Copenhagen, Denmark.
It all started back in 2001, when five guys came together to mix up the best elements of their likes, being Neurosis, Will Haven, Old Man Gloom and early Isis while applying their own unique approach. The five-piece seeks to create an intense chaotic sound consisting of heavy riffs and epic passages, in which its music is best described as harsh hardcore with influences raging from punk to metal. Driven by a profound love for a dark and brutal sound with
sincere and honest lyrics, THE PSYKE PROJECT is strongly dedicated to a DIY-mentality and beliefs of revolution.
Having previously released two albums - “Samara” 2003, “Daikini” 2005 and now “Apnea” 2007 - THE PSYKE PROJECT gained a large following in Denmark and is considered to be the premier hardcore band and spearhead of the scene.
All the attention led them to becoming part of the famous festivals and tours such as Roskilde Festival 2003/2007, MTV Headbangers Ball plus tours in all of Europe and UK as well as getting four nominations for Danish Metal Awards in 2005 and a nomination for Danish Music Award in 2008.
In February 2008 THE PSYKE PROJECT got signed to LIFEFORCE RECORDS for the worldwide release of bands latest effort “Apnea” (Scandinavian-only release so far), which was produced by the highly acclaimed producer Tue
Madsen (THE HAUNTED, HEAVEN SHALL BURN, SICK OF IT ALL) and showcases immensely modern heavy music along side the beaten metal and hardcore paths to create something new and different.
In November 2008 THE PSYKE PROJECT will be entering famous FREDMAN STUDIOS in Gothenburg to record their fourth album
